Bonus Crochet Stitches

Bonus Crochet Stitches are exactly that, a bonus!  This is a collection of beautiful, fun crochet stitches that aren’t your everyday stitch.  They take the crochet basics and put them together in new ways to create some pretty awesome looks and textures.

This is where you’ll want to come to find that perfect stitch to make your project really amazing!  Or maybe, this is where you’ll want to come to try something new and expand on your crochet skills.  Whatever your reason, you’ve come to the right place.

You'll see that some of the stitches listed here I've walked you through myself.  But there are some that link you to other sights, also.  I'm always looking for new stitches to try.  So, if I find a great page with a great stitch, I've just got to share.

I’ve started with some of my favorites but this page will always be a work in progress. Because, like I said earlier, I'm always looking for new stitches to learn.  So, come back often and check out what’s new.

Do You Have a Crochet Stitch You'd Like to Share?

If you have a great crochet stitch that you’d like to share, please tell me about it. Send me the instructions or the link and I'll add it right here to our Bonus Crochet Stitches page. Don't forget to let me know why you like it, too.
Thanks for sharing.

Bonus Crochet Stitches

Tunisian Crochet - Afghan Stitch

Tunisian crochet, afghan crochet, the afghan stitch and tricot are all names used to describe the same stitch/technique in crochet.

Broomstick Lace Crochet

In broomstick lace crochet, loops are made around a dowel while working regular crochet stitches creating a beautiful, sweeping pattern.  This is one of my favorites of the bonus crochet stitches.

Waffle Crochet Stitch

The waffle crochet stitch uses front post double crochet (Fpdc) stitches to create a waffle patterned fabric.

Pineapple Crochet

Many patterns are used to make doilies but the pineapple stitch is very popular.

Spiral Crochet

Spiral crochet is worked in continuous rounds, usually with 2 or more colors.

Catherine Wheel

The Catherine Wheel Crochet Stitch makes a fun pinwheel pattern and looks great when worked in 2 or more colors.

Bavarian Square

Bavarian crochet or the Bavarian square have a unique pattern and are usually worked in contrasting colors.

Crochet Grit Stitch & Mixed Grit Stitch

Crochet Grit Stitch

These two stitches are great for beginners.  They look complicated, but they're not, which makes them even better!

Mixed Grit Stitch

Crochet Glover Stitch

The crochet glover stitch creates a really nice textured fabric.  And, it looks a bit different depending on the angle that your looking at it from!

Crochet Bean Stitch

The Crochet Bean Stitch is an awesome stitch to work.  It's a little more of an intermediate stitch since you have to pull through 6 loops, but that's what makes it so fun.

It will give you a nice warm material with great texture.

Crochet Primrose Stitch

The Crochet Primrose Stitch is a beautiful stitch.  It has a fun flowery look to it when completed and gives any project a great texture.

Larksfoot Crochet Stitch

The Larksfoot Crochet Stitch uses crochet spike stitches to create an awesome pattern!

It is especially fun if you use several different colors of yarn. Even worked all in the same color, this stitch is just beautiful!

Picot Single Crochet

The Picot Single Crochet or sometimes referred to as the granule stitch is really just a lot of fun.  It’s so easy and makes a great textured material. You'll want to keep using this stitch!

Crochet Embossed Pocket Stitch

Crochet Embossed Pocket Stitch is such a fun stitch with such a fun look to it.  You actually create little pockets on the front of your piece.  How cool is that!

Star (Daisy) Stitch

The Star (Daisy) Stitch is just so, so pretty!  This would look great on a baby quilt or throw for a wedding gift.  Really, it would be a great stitch to use just about anywhere.

Remember to check back and see what new stitches have been added and just have fun with crochet!
